About This Home

With sweeping vineyard views across Alexander Valley, spectacular sunset skies and a private, end of the road setting, this extraordinary property presents a rare opportunity to complete the architectural vision of Beverley David Thorne, one of California's most distinctive Modernist designers and best known for Case Study House No. 26 and the celebrated House in the Sky commissioned by Dave Brubeck. The original plans envision a dramatic main residence defined by an expressive structural framework, soaring post and beam volumes and expansive walls of glass designed to bring the surrounding landscape into the living spaces. Portions of the main residence's steel framework are already in place, while a nearly completed guest studio showcases Thorne's signature architectural style above a space originally designed as a garage. A striking keyhole shaped pool anchors the setting and overlooks the valley beyond. As evening falls, layers of pink, gold and fiery red stretch across the sky, creating unforgettable sunsets over the surrounding hills and vineyards. Offered AS-IS, the sale includes original architectural drawings and a collection of period photographs, providing an invaluable foundation for completing the project with respect for Thorne's original vision. Significant infrastructure is also already established. Keep Thorne's remarkable design or explore the potential to create a dream home of your own in one of Northern Sonoma County's most inspiring settings. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to become the next steward of a truly special place.
